Last Semester

I cannot believe that I have not posted anything for so long. I got my white Christmas and a white New Year. I'm expecting great things for this year!

It's That Time of Year

I love this time of year, except for the heat! Going back to school. I love paper and pens and books and the smell of books, all that is associated with school. I always have and always will! New clothes, bookbag, shoes, etc. I love school and returning to school last fall after 29 years of being out was such a challenge but I have loved every minute of it. I am now down to just two semesters left and I will graduate with an Associates in Science. I am looking forward to graduating but yet I am going to miss school. I think I could be a full time student year around and be happy as a clam as they say. My second grandbaby will be starting school this fall. He is such a little man. Its hard to believe that Summer is going to be in first grade. Where does the time go?

Need a Vacation!

Its been too long since I have been on here. So busy and the summer is flying by. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with everything that is going on in our lives. Need a vacation desperately! My dreams seem to be crashing around me of sorts but trying to keep a focus on bright spots.

Another semester behind me!

Well I have completed another semester. Whew! I had an accounting class and math class this semester and I thought I was going to lose my mind. I am anxious to get my grades. I know I have three A's for sure but I am unsure of the other two classes. This school thing has been a real learning experience for me in more ways than you would think. I have two weeks off and then I hit the books again over the summer.

How Things Work Out!

I am just amazed some days how God works things out in my life/our lives. I have been stressing about paying for summer school. Initially, there was no money available for summer, so it had to come out of pocket. If I did not go it would throw my graduation date off and put me a semester behind. Well, praise God! I was notified this week that I had qualified for financial aide for the summer. Because of this I will not get off track over the summer. I am excited and yet the summer off would have been nice. Teaser: Romania. Update on this to come later.

Change

Do run from or to change? I used to run from it, now I seem to run toward it. I am embracing it now days as though I am a new person, changed inside somehow. I never used to embrace change. I would hide from it, flee from it and do just about anything I could not to encounter it. Now I seem to long for it. The change of seasons, changes in my life, all of it. Change keeps things interesting and seems to add a spark to life. I am sorry I waited so long to embrace you "change".

Rain Makes Me Glad for the Sun

We have had an incredible wet start to our new year. When the sun shines I truly appreciate it! I close my eyes and raise my head toward the sky and just soak in the warmth. It warms clear through. I guess what I am saying, take a moment and enjoy the small things, it makes the big things (problems) seem alot smaller.

Little Time

It seems lately I have little time to stop and enjoy the important things in life. The few warm days we have had, have just been teasers of spring to come. I love spring as much as I love fall. The warmth after a long winter of cold and the sunshine after a winter of clouds. Too just set and soak in the warmth of the sun on those teaser days is a true joy. Too see the flower bulbs start peaking their little heads through the ground, as anxious for spring as I am. In a society where everything is so fast paced, to just enjoy the simple things is a great gift.

Homework Overload!

I am having homework overload this week. Love school, but can't seem to get my act together yet for this semester when it comes to doing homework.

Beautiful Day Out

We have had a beautiful day today. Warm with lots of sun. Makes me long for those spring breezes. Once January gets here I start wishing for spring but God may not be ready for spring yet, so I guess I will just have to wait. School this semester is going to be tougher than last semester. Accounting and Math may just do me in. Enjoy some of these MO pics of the family.

First Week of School Behind Me

Well the first week of my second semester is behind me and whew! Instead of four classes this semester I have 5 and that fifth one really makes a difference. I am now getting into the meat of my major which is fun but it is harder. Yuk, I have a math class and a accounting class! Can you believe this, I have a test in one of my classes on the class syllabus!

Homework Daze!

School has started and so has the homework. The first week always makes me feel a little overwhelmed. New year, new optimism and hopes for change. There is much I need to change in my life, so I think I will take one thing at a time and try to change it for the better. I'm always ready for spring once Christmas has passed. Weather has been extremely cold for us.

Ready For School

I have just finished cleaning the whole house, it looks great! Mending and little chores are all done, books are in my backpack for Monday, so I guess I am ready for school. Seems like this break flew by. I had plans to scrapbook and catch up on that, but I did not get anything done with that. Posting pictures of Christmas, enjoy!

You Can Go Home!

Many say you can't go home. That nothing is the same, of course its not! I did go home and it brought back a flood of memories. The winters I had as a child, playing in the snow with my brothers, making snow forts. The warmth of our home, the sound of our mom and dad talking. It made me long for those days and the security I felt. Growing up is not an option but it is fun remembering and always brings more than a few tears to my eyes, especially since losing my dad to cancer. Before leaving for my grown up home I held on to my mom a little longer and a little tighter, taking me back if only for a moment to my childhood when mom could fix anything!

Christmas Is Tommorow, Yea!

I think I am worse than a child when it comes to Christmas! I cannot wait to see everyone open their gifts. I really do not care if I get any, I just LOVE giving them. It is really fun with the grandkids. We had our annual cookie making day the other day and I had a blast. Pictures are above. I also added one of Makayla. She likes playing in and with my backpack so I put her in it and rolled her around. She LOVED it! Merry Christmas from my family to yours and pray you have a blessed New Year!

We Still Have Snow!

The top picture is during the snow storm and the above photo is during a short reprieve of snowing. I cannot believe we still have snow. This is the longest we have had snow. Usually it is gone by the next day. I think this is a record for us since we moved here. Leaving for MO on Saturday, hoping they still have snow.

We Have Snow!!!

Yea! We have snow. We have about 5 inches. We got a nice layer of sleet on top of it. It snowed a couple of days ago and shut pretty much everything down. Melted some yesterday and melting today. We never get to keep it long. Mak has pneumonia again, not as severe as last time. I am much better, still coughing. Summer and Ty love the snow and have been playing in it. Poor Mak can not even enjoy it.

Still Sick!

Makayla and I are still fighting a virus. Needless to say we are getting tired of it. It has been a week for both of us. Doctor says it just has to run its course. It is not the flu, thank heavens! I have big plans for the first of next week so I have to get well. I am having my yearly traditional bake cookies day with Summer and we are adding Ty this year, then we are going to go and see the new Disney movie. I will have to post picts from that day.

Under the Weather!

I have been sick for about a week now with a terrible cold. It just doesn't seem to want to go away. Makayla is doing better with her bronchiolitis. Still getting breathing treatments but I believe she is better. She has a doctors appointment today. She is bouncing back faster than me. I was able to sing in our church musical but it was only by the grace of God, it sure wasn't by my power. I couldn't hardly talk let alone sing. Christmas is fast approaching. I can't wait to see the grandkids faces when they open their gifts!

Grades Are In!

The grades are in and if I could do cartwheels I would! Three A's and a B. Grade point average of 3.75. I believe I have made the dean's list but it will not be official until January when they post the list. One semester behind me and four more to go! My next semester will be a little tougher as I have 5 classes instead of 4. Our household is gearing up for Christmas now. I finally got the house decorated. I am planning my annual cookie day with Summer and Ty gets to join in now. We make and decorate cookies together. I'm planning on taking them to the new Disney movie. I felt like they got a little neglected while Nana was in school. Makayla lives with us so she sees me and I interact with her on a daily basis but Summer and Ty do not. We are planning a MO trip after Christmas with them and praying for snow while we are there.
